Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ('AUP') governs the conduct of all sellers, buyers, and users of the Myshoplet platform ('Platform'). It sets out the standards of acceptable behaviour and the types of products and services that may and may not be listed or sold on the Platform.

By creating an account or listing products on Myshoplet, you agree to comply with this AUP in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Violations of this policy may result in immediate account suspension, permanent termination, withholding of funds, and referral to relevant law enforcement authorities.

2. Prohibited Products & Services

The following products and services are strictly prohibited on Myshoplet:

  • Counterfeit, replica, or knock-off goods of any kind, including but not limited to clothing, accessories, electronics, and documents
  • Illegal drugs, narcotics, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia
  • Weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, or any items that facilitate violence
  • Stolen goods or items obtained through fraudulent means
  • Pornographic, obscene, or sexually explicit material
  • Human organs, body parts, or any form of human trafficking
  • Endangered species, protected wildlife, or products derived from them
  • Malware, spyware, hacking tools, or any software designed to cause harm
  • Fake identification documents, diplomas, certificates, or official records
  • Pyramid schemes, Ponzi schemes, or any fraudulent investment products
  • Prescription medication without proper licensing and regulatory approval
  • Products making false health, medical, or scientific claims
  • Any item whose sale is prohibited under Nigerian law or applicable international law

3. Prohibited Seller Conduct

In addition to prohibited products, the following seller behaviours are strictly not permitted:

  • Creating fake orders, reviews, or ratings to manipulate platform metrics
  • Using the platform to launder money or process fraudulent payments
  • Collecting customer payment information outside of Myshoplet's approved payment channels
  • Misrepresenting the nature, quality, condition, or origin of products
  • Listing products at prices significantly above market value with intent to defraud
  • Operating multiple seller accounts to circumvent suspensions or restrictions
  • Sharing customer data obtained through the platform with third parties
  • Using automated bots or scripts to manipulate platform systems
  • Engaging in price-fixing or collusion with other sellers
  • Threatening, harassing, or abusing customers or platform staff

4. Seller Responsibilities

All sellers on Myshoplet are solely responsible for the products they list and sell. Sellers must:

  • Accurately describe all products including condition, size, materials, and any defects
  • Fulfil orders promptly and within the delivery timeframe communicated to customers
  • Maintain sufficient stock to fulfil orders placed on the platform
  • Respond to customer enquiries and disputes within 48 hours
  • Comply with all applicable Nigerian consumer protection laws and regulations
  • Maintain accurate business records and provide proof of transactions when requested
  • Notify Myshoplet immediately of any security breach involving customer data
  • Obtain all necessary licences and permits required to sell their products

5. KYC & Identity Verification

Myshoplet is required to verify the identity of sellers before processing payouts. All sellers must:

  • Provide accurate personal information including full legal name, email address, and phone number
  • Submit a valid government-issued ID (National ID, passport, or driver's licence) when requested
  • Provide a Bank Verification Number (BVN) for payout eligibility
  • Cooperate with any additional due diligence requests from Myshoplet or its payment partners
  • Notify Myshoplet of any changes to their identity or banking information

Sellers who fail to complete identity verification will not be eligible to withdraw earnings from the platform.

6. Dispute Resolution

Myshoplet provides a structured dispute resolution process to protect both buyers and sellers:

Buyers may raise a dispute against an order within 7 days of the expected delivery date by submitting a dispute form with their order number, reason, and supporting evidence.

Upon receiving a dispute, Myshoplet will notify the seller and allow 48 hours for the seller to respond. If the seller does not respond within 48 hours, the dispute may be resolved in the buyer's favour.

Myshoplet reserves the right to make final decisions on disputes and to issue refunds, partial refunds, or dismiss disputes based on the evidence provided.

7. Enforcement

Myshoplet reserves the right to take the following actions against any seller found to be in violation of this AUP:

  • Temporary suspension of seller account pending investigation
  • Permanent termination of seller account and all associated stores
  • Withholding of pending payouts pending investigation or as compensation for damages
  • Removal of offending product listings without notice
  • Reporting violations to the Nigerian Police Force, EFCC, or other relevant authorities
  • Legal action for damages caused by fraudulent activity

8. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any seller or listing that violates this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it immediately to our trust and safety team at support@myshoplet.com. All reports are treated confidentially.

Myshoplet takes all reports seriously and will investigate within 5 business days. We appreciate the help of our community in keeping the platform safe and trustworthy.

9. Updates to this Policy

Myshoplet may update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Sellers will be notified of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after such notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
