Welcome to Myshoplet ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting the personal information of everyone who uses our platform, including sellers, customers, and visitors. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

By using Myshoplet, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.

2. Information We Collect

a) Account & Profile Information

  • Full name (first and last), email address, and phone number when you register
  • Store name, description, location, and category
  • Profile photo and store logo images
  • Google account ID if you sign up or log in using Google

b) Identity Verification (KYC) Data

  • Government-issued ID document image (National ID, International Passport, or Driver's Licence) submitted for identity verification
  • ID type selected during KYC submission
  • KYC verification status (pending, approved, or rejected) and review timestamps
  • We do not store raw BVN or NIN numbers — only the uploaded document and its status

c) Transaction & Order Data

  • Orders placed through your storefront including customer names, phone numbers, and delivery addresses
  • Product details, pricing, and payment method information
  • Wallet balance, payout records, and transaction history

d) Usage Data

  • Pages visited, features used, and time spent on the platform
  • Device type, browser, IP address, and approximate location
  • Referral sources and marketing campaign interactions

e) Payment Information

  • We do not store card numbers. Payments are processed by Paystack.
  • Bank account details you provide for payout purposes
  • Transaction references and payment status records

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your seller account and storefront
  • To process orders, payments, and payouts on your behalf
  • To verify your identity (KYC) as required for payout eligibility and regulatory compliance
  • To operate the AI Sales Agent on WhatsApp
  • To send you important notifications about your account, orders, and security
  • To improve our platform features and fix bugs
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • To comply with legal obligations under Nigerian law

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these limited circumstances:

  • Payment processors (Paystack) to handle financial transactions
  • Cloud infrastructure providers (for hosting and storage)
  • Analytics tools to understand platform usage in aggregate
  • Law enforcement or regulatory bodies when required by Nigerian law
  • Buyers who place orders through your storefront receive the order details you provide
  • Identity verification data is accessed only by authorised Myshoplet compliance team members

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, access controls, and secure file storage for uploaded documents. However, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Identity verification documents are retained for a minimum of 5 years as required by Nigerian AML/KYC regulations. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Deletion: request deletion of your data (subject to legal requirements)
  • Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection: opt out of marketing communications at any time

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
